Hi! My name is Lewis. I’m a cancer biologist and bioinformatician, certified programming instructor, and Lecturer in Bioscience at the University of Sheffield.
My research combines experimental and computational approaches to investigate cancer progression, metastatic dormancy and therapeutic resistance. I’m particularly interested in understanding how cancer cells survive treatment and persist in a dormant state, and in using multi-omic profiling, bioinformatics and statistical modelling to identify biomarkers and therapeutic vulnerabilities that can support precision oncology.
Alongside my research, I develop reproducible computational workflows for analysing complex biological and clinical datasets. I work primarily in R, BASh and SQL, with experience spanning next-generation sequencing, multi-omic data analysis, high-performance computing, machine learning, containerisation and reproducible research software.
